Virtual AMIP 2 – Why Safeguarding Matters

Please join us for the virtual AMIP session titled ‘Why Safeguarding Matters’ which is taking place between 10am – 11.30am on Tuesday 15 September 2026.

This session will explore the critical role safeguarding plays across the housing sector, bringing together expert insight and practical perspectives to help organisations strengthen their approach.

Led by Hazel O’Halloran, Founder and Director of Synergy Safeguarding, the session will begin by exploring the personal drivers behind safeguarding and why it must remain central to organisational culture and practice. Drawing on insights from sector survey findings, the session will examine key themes including workforce foundations, organisational responsibilities, procurement and contracting, training and confidence, reporting and escalation, leadership, partnership working, and effective assurance.

Delegates will also hear practical perspectives on what safeguarding looks like in action, including the contractor viewpoint and the importance of understanding safeguarding responsibilities throughout the supply chain. The session will conclude with a customer-focused perspective, exploring the role of resident voice, collaboration and partnerships in delivering effective safeguarding outcomes.

The session will provide attendees with valuable insight, practical learning and actionable steps to help embed a strong safeguarding culture within their organisations.
