9am – 9.45am – Competence or Consequence?

10am – 11.30am – Why Safeguarding Matters
Led by Hazel O’Halloran, Founder and Director of Synergy Safeguarding, this session will explore why safeguarding matters and what good practice looks like across the housing sector. With contractors often being the eyes and ears in residents’ homes, the session will examine the shared responsibilities of landlords and their supply chains, providing practical insight into recognising concerns, taking appropriate action and embedding a strong safeguarding culture. 12pm – 1.45pm – Disrepair Improvement Group
This practical disrepair session, led by Tristan Hemsley, will bring together sector experts to explore the evolving challenges and expectations surrounding disrepair. Through a series of expert presentations, delegates will gain insight into compliance and the impact of Awaab’s Law, the importance of empathy and resident experience, and the role of effective procurement in delivering better outcomes. The final session of the day will look ahead to the future of building safety, exploring the legislative, regulatory and operational changes that everyone should be preparing for now.
